OK, this is going to be a rant. Against a firm that generally has raised my rankles for some 50 years.
Wow! Who knew that the SBA (Small Business Administration) could react quickly. Those of us who watched its (in)action after Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Harvey weren’t surprised to see just 900 EIDL’s (Economic Injury Disaster Loans) handled a day after the CARES Act was passed to help business cope with the pandemic.
There still are funds left for this PPP program. If you haven't applied for your piece, now is the time. (The funds won't appear for 10 days or so.) Even if you are in Northern Virginia, NYC/LI, SFO, or LAX where the quarantine won't end for two weeks yet. That goes for restaurants- because the funds will help you weather the restricted openings that should alleviate some (not all) in 8 to 10 weeks. (My blog tomorrow will provide you further data on such scenarios.)
Come on! I can’t be all pandemic, all the time. Oh, wait, this is kind of about the pandemic situation. So, I guess -even in the height of (a now extended) tax season, the Covid-19 situation compels a lot of my attention.
