Even after I left New York, I have had a love-hate relationship with city hacks. Oh, they are entertaining, they provide a valuable service- but their vehicles…. They are not arranged for customer comfort.

The Festival of Lights
Last night was the first night of Chanuka, the 25th day of Kislev. Today is the first day. (You do recall the Tora defines a day- there was evening, there was morning, one day; all days begin at the evening, for when the world was all dark, before the Sun illuminated the sky by the decree of the Supreme Being.)
Fake it ’till you make it?
I am truly thankful, even if I don’t celebrate this moved holiday
I am pretty sure that you recall that I don’t generally celebrate (American) Thanksgiving. My Thanksgiving is more in line of how and when the Pilgrims created the holiday.

Art for Us
OK, you know I love art. I have written about my collection often.
Since I was introduced to owning art- now going back more than half a century- I have only purchased art that moves me. Whether it was places- the Wailing Wall (now called the Western Wall) and the Brooklyn Bridge come to mind; faces and emotion (Moshe Gur’s dramatic painting of Ethiopian refugees and Nikki Imber’s Jewish refugees and redemption come to mind); or abstruse (Agam is a great example), I choose what I love.

Reading is Fundamental
I am extremely lucky. I learned to read at a very early age; not only that- I developed the ability to read very quickly. Of course, I always was bored easily in school- which may explain why I spent more of my elementary days in the hallways than the classroom. And, had I been born a decade later, probably would have been dosed with massive doses of Ritalin.
A bigger arsenal
You know, we have some pretty great products that can keep us very safe during this pandemic.
Between the Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, and Janssen (J&J) vaccines, the odds of us getting COVID-19 are very low. Of course, given the plethora of Anti-Vaxxers, we- the entire population- can still be at risk. Because no vaccine is 100% effective- effectivity is based upon dosage and frequency of contact.
Testing, 1,2,3…
When I began arranging clinical trials, I was shocked to learn how long the concept had been around. And, I bet you know the first trial, too.
