So, last Friday, we discussed the relationship between EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) and MS (Multiple Sclerosis). That could be exciting- because should we develop a vacinne, it could eradicate the scourge of MS and its crippling affects. (Right now there are some 1 million American citizens (plus many more around the world) suffering from MS.)

Another virus…
You know, a lot of folks think that the COVID-19 vaccines were developed very quickly. And, that’s true, if one only looks at the last step(s) in the process.
Masks, yet again
Here we are again. Shaking in our boots because of COVID-19.
Sure, this new variant (omicron) seems far less lethal, but it’s more prone to infect us. (That’s what happens when the SARS-CoV-2 virus adopts characteristics of the common cold virus. That’s what can happen when an uninoculated subject is invaded by the SARS-CoV-2 virus while suffering from – or about to – the common cold.)
Dobie!
Oh, my. Oh, my….
One of my favorite characters bit the dust. Dobie Gillis. (OK, you know him- or not- as the actor, Dwayne Hickman. Dwyane died on 9 January.)
Lessons From Yitro
It was just 10 days ago. When another crazed terrorist decided to attack a Jewish institution And, amazingly, this past Shabat, when we returned (perhaps with more trepidation) to shul, we experienced the reassurance of being granted the 10 Commandments.
National Compliment Day
Oh, goody! Another Hallmark event. National Compliment Day…
Wait. This one wasn’t really invented by Hallmark!
Weight Loss Drugs
I am sure you’ve seen those commercials. At least two different, competing drugs. Each proclaiming how great they are for Type II diabetics, lowering their A1C, and… wait for it- helping them lose 7 to 12 pounds.
Ch-ch-cholesterol scares?
102. That’s my number.
Yup- that’s my total cholesterol levels. Not just HDL (high density lipoprotein cholesterol, or “H”ealthy), but also LDL (low density lipoprotein cholesterol, or “L”ousy). But, as I’ve often said, these are surrogate measurements. Because we hadn’t identified the proper substance that indicates our chances for heart disease or cardiac complications.
Yeah. You knew I’d discuss this.
I wasn’t sure if I should break into my queue. Or, when I should break into my queue. Because I wasn’t even sure where I should begin…
Is it- Or Isn’t It?
We’ve all have seen the big craze. Beyond Meat. Impossible Foods. Impossible Whopper.Beyond Fried Chicken…. Yeah, you get the idea.
