Today is the last day of July. Tonight is also the 9th day of Av. The end of this Hebrew month is the day my mother died and the day my oldest daughter was born. An auspicious moment.

Keep On Trucking- 2
So, yesterday, I described how we learned about trucking and logistics. That is exactly why we now know how to help our clients in these endeavors. Whether it’s a common carrier (conveys freight for other firms) or private carriage (only carries freight for their own business), we understand the factors, the hidden issues, and the need to manage “the lone wolf” (the long-distance trucker) effectively.
Keep on Trucking- 1
When we started our dialysis company, we knew we were going to battle against some of the largest companies in the world. And, we were – if we were lucky- awfully teeny. But, we knew we had the absolute best product (yes, we were shy and retiring back then, too)- and we did our homework and knew how the marketplace operated.
Fire!
I don’t know about you, but I always wondered how folks dealt with fire 150 years ago. I mean we’ve all seen the movies that show the town citizens engaging in bucket brigades.
Tread Monitor?
If you’ve traveled with me, you know I have a lead foot. OK. Maybe there’s a pole holding my lead foot down, too.
The age of phage?
I have run into this problem since grad school. What’s the plural of virus? Is it viri? Virus? Viruses?
H-h-holocaust m-m-memories
I’m not sure about this trip.
First of all, it may mean that my blog posts are going to appear at random times over the next few days. Because I will be traveling to places that may not have the best internet service (or, at all!)- and there is a significant time shift. But, that’s only part of the reasons why I’m not sure about this trip.
Look! Up in the Sky!
Drones. I’m sure that just brought up a picture of war. But, what if we turned that on its head.
No, I am not talking about the use of drones by Amazon to deliver the products we want. And, I’m certainly not talking about the use of drones by cops to spy on us citizens.
Do you see the light?
Sometimes, even your hoped for results astound you. Like, Dr. Hannah Iaccarino (MIT) found when she zapped a mouse with induced (but initial stages of) Alzheimer’s disease. The light caused brain wave induction (roughly 40 oscillations per second [Hz]). And, then she found that the toxic protein levels of amyloids halved.
Eureka or Serendipity?
Serendipity. How trained minds recognize that something is different and, in so doing, solve a problem. Yes, I know that is not the definition you will find in a dictionary, which claims it means: the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way. Except the concept of serendipity universally occurs in science and technology, and my definition describes how it happens.
