So, we talked about crowdfunding. What about peer-to-peer lending? This has been around for a while. And, it has some advantages- but it won’t fund a company. It could possible get a small company out of a jam. And, it certainly can work for certain individuals. But, the limit of the loan via this process seems to be about $35K.
It was 50 years ago today. A. Philip Randolph and Bayard Rustin organized the day’s March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. To strike a blow for freedom and the ability of everyone to have a job that paid reasonable wages. A problem that still exists today- perhaps, even more so.

OK. This could be a real problem for me. I am rarely cold. Oh, sure, when I am sick (about once a year, Thanks SB!) I feel it. Otherwise, I only feel the heat. Starting somewhere around 65 F (19C). But, for most folks, being cold is a problem. Maybe, more than they- and we- thought initially.

My life changed more than 3 decades ago. The night (and day and night) that it took my eldest daughter to enter this world.
I travel a lot. And, it’s getting easier now that hotels have stopped ripping me off for internet service. And, I tend to frequent coffee shops that offer free (but slow) internet service. And, to be honest, I have found ways to slave internet off my cell phone, when I’m really in a pinch. (I do read eMails off my cell phone when I travel, but I won’t bother reading long PDF files that way.)
To insure that only those that had the right to be in our R&D facilities, we used electronic keys- 30+ years ago. Moreover, the codes changed, based upon the hour of the day. That way those who should not have been in the lab after hours couldn’t be. That was one way we kept our technology to ourselves. Of course, back then there were no USB keys that you could plug into a computer and walk away with secrets. But, you could make a floppy. Somehow, we managed to keep our data smaller back then, too- so a lot could disappear on that floppy (or two or three).
Memory. As I’ve discussed often, it is a critical component of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). Those episodes where we felt that intense fear can reverberate and then periodically (or continually) revisit our consciousness. In PTSD, it’s the amygdala and the cingulate cortex portions of the brain that are prominent in these recurrences.
