Who’s that knocking at the door?
OK. So, everyone has finally filed their 2018 taxes.
What? You haven’t? Well, if you received a W-2 or a 1099, that is the absolutely most likely method to find yourself a target for the IRS. Because the system is designed to match every 1099 and W-2 filed with a tax return. And, if you received a 1099 showing you earned $ 20,000 in income- and you haven’t filed your taxes, you can expect a bill from the IRS for at least $ 4000. (You would receive a CP2000 Automated Underreporter [AUR] Notice from the IRS.) Not that you owe that much- because you probably have expenses to counterbalance that revenue – but because the IRS wants to scare the living daylights out of you.
No gobble-gobble here.
I don’t generally celebrate (American) Thanksgiving. Mostly because my celebrations more closely matches how and when the Pilgrims created the holiday. That celebration was a version of Sukot, the Jewish harvest festival. More akin to Canadian Thanksgiving, which coincides with my holiday. (Think about it. What harvest would you reap in late November?)
Sedentary America?
I don’t think I am that atypical for my generation.
Since I’ve been born, I’ve lived in 11 different homes. 5 different states. 9 different cities.

Privacy vs. Security
I don’t know about you, but maybe we can start breathing a lot easier nowadays.
Nisuin. The Wedding.
So, tomorrow will be a special day.
My youngest is about to get married to a wonderful gal. It also means all of my children have found wonderful partners with whom they share their lives.
I know how old you are!
So, a month ago, we spoke about our blood. How it can provide us indications about our general health, as well as provide much better indications if someone is experiencing PTSD.
Extracorporeal Improvements?
I am always amazed how ‘comfortable’ I am in a dialysis center.
It no longer confounds me that we are taking a person’s blood out of his or her body and circulating it through plastic tubing and a dialyzer (which is really nothing but a plastic membrane, often in hollow “pipe” configuration or as a sandwich with blood at the center) for hours. In essence, because the patient’s kidneys are failing to do so, we are circulating the patient’s entire blood volume through this circuit 20 complete times to remove the toxins of daily living.
