I have been complaining about those folks who are refusing to be vaccinated. (Today, I will add in those who refuse to get their kids inoculated.  As far as I am concerned, this is child abuse- and should make it possible to separate the parent from the child.)COVID-19 among Rockland and Orange County

Home Dialysis Implementation Scorecard

Exactly as I feared.

As I stated on 15 July 2019, when I discussed Trump’s Executive Order regarding dialysis, I considered that this executive order looked to be more aspirational than executional.  Not even the End Stage Renal Disease Treatment Choices (ETC) payment model seems to have made a dent in the increased adoption of home dialysis services.

Polio Problems

I am sure, by now, that you heard that there is a polio case (where the subject is paralyzed) in upstate New York (Rockland County).  That’s because a slew of religious Jews (known often as Charedi) have been snookered into believing that vaccinations are dangerous.  It’s also why only some 60% of their children have been inoculated against polio.   (One would think their devotion to learning and knowledge would prevent such stupidity from taking hold in their population.)

COVID and Cardiovascular Complications

So, we’ve been discussing all those long-term symptoms that accompany one’s recovery from COVID-19.  One I haven’t discussed in a while has been cardiovascular complications.  Again, like the other long-term symptoms, the manifestations do not require the subject to have been hospitalized with the disease.   In the case of cardiovascular complications, COVID survivors are roughly 63% more likely to manifest a heart attack and about 52% more likely to suffer a stroke.  But, there’s also heart failure, irregular heart beats, and a slew of other cardiovascular complications that are caused by COVID-19.
