Armistice Day CIII (Veteran’s Day came much later)
It was on the 11th hour of the 11th month in the year 1918 that “The Great War” ended. The first World War (no one expected the second- but they should have) had that moniker back then. That’s also the name my father employed, too. It was also among the last sanctioned battles in which my grandfather (my mother’s father) was a participant.

Sudden Death
I have had the opportunity to serve as trustee for a fair number of clients. Some of them, those that have substantial assets, often arrange for our services long before anyone has passed away. In these cases, we may (often) be involved in the construction of the trust and the goals of the trust when the principal has passed.

I know, I know. Christmas is coming and y’all are desperate to spend money to buy your gifts. Others are desperate to get a new (or used) set of wheels. I’m waiting to get a supply of pineapple juice.
Vegan is not always healthy
I have a bunch of friends who are vegan. I’m not- but I do follow vegan rules when I am eating outside the home. Vegan means the food is going to meet the rules of Kashrut.
A Storied Hotel and a Sordid Tale

Twice today, I was “assaulted” by fast food “news”.
First, I should explain two things.
One- I am a very good cook. I am honored that many friends feel free to join me for dinner- clearly on Shabat and holidays- but often on many other days of the week. I find it problematic to visit restaurants where the food is often mediocre, the menu prices are high, and the wine charges atmospheric. Why not eat at home?
