An even dozen

Wow!  A dozen years at this site.  That’s a long time to be posting my thoughts.

I had long been sharing my thoughts; proffering my take on sci-tech, business, and finance for decades before this. Which meant my clients and friends were subjected to frequent (some would say incessant) newsletters, eMails, letters, publications- oh, you get it.

12 candles

During 2008 and 2009, I began writing a blog- using various venues. But, those were not serious attempts- at least, if one defines serious as making it part of one’s routine.

Then, on the 1st of June 2010, I decide to make the effort official.  Which meant I was going to create a blog- and post my thoughts come what may. And, once you make such an announcement, you have to carry it through or the world will realize you have willingly failed.

That last fact is what carried me through the first month. Oh, I am not saying I have never failed. Because, I have had more than my share of doozies.  Most of them have taught me great lessons. Not that I would not have liked to learn those lessons in other ways, but, sometimes, failure is the only method that works.

New Subscribers

But, you- my esteemed readers- are what have carried me through this journey every other day. I am thrilled every day as I see the scores of new subscribers. Even on weekends, when I don’t post, you keep subscribing.  And, trust me, I read each and every name. (Even those of you who decide that Mr. Mxyzptlk [from my comic-book reading days] was not really that cryptic a name.

You really feel compelled to employ an alias like that?  You do know that I promised- and keep that promise each day- not to sell your names or send you trash mail.)

I also appreciate those of you who don’t subscribe, but read my post from time to time.  (Maybe you could read it more often- please?)  Because you are also why I write my blog.  To educate, to inform, to humor, to engage.

And, I don’t accept advertising. That’s true, even though it would make this blog a pretty lucrative affair for me. Because I made you a promise that I would provide you facts (and opinions based upon facts that you can verify), with bona-fide references, so you can learn and enjoy your day.  Without commercial endorsements.

Blogiverrsary

And, for that, for your readership and loyalty, I thank you. From the bottom of my heart. It touches me more than you will ever know.

May the Supreme Being bless and keep you.
May the Supreme Being shine its bounty upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Supreme Being maintain support for your endeavors and afford you peace.
Amen.

  1. HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY! I’ve enjoyed reading your blogs for I don’t remember how long, maybe since 2016 when I joined UBC? Keep on bloggin’ on!

  2. Happy blogiversary to you. And many more! Signed, a reader of several years and a fan of the comic book Mr. Mxyzptlk.

  3. Congratulations on your blogiversary! I love your closing blessing; we used to say almost the same exact thing at the end of service when I was a Lutheran. 🙂
