Do Your Civic Duty! Vote Tomorrow.

Yes, I know, we are not voting for President this year.  But, we are voting for every Congressperson- and a slew of Senators.  Not to mention a bunch of state officials.

Every one of those positions are crucial.  The folks we pick will set our agenda for the next two years.  Every single election is important.  (Not to mention that it helps citizens develop “muscle memory”, to always come out to vote.)

10 Battleground Senate Seats

Then, there are 10 Senate seats that are up for grabs.  Yes, I know the US is voting in 34 Senate elections- but only 10 of them have a realistic chance of changing parties.  And, given that the current split is 50/50, those seats will set up who serves as the majority party in the Senate.

Election deniers on 2022 ballots

If you decide to stay home and not vote for your local/state choices, then you really lose all standing in how things will be for the next two- or more years.  This is especially true, when one remembers that some 291 GOP candidates of the 569 on the ballot this year do not believe in the integrity of the ballot.  (Also reported here.)

Vote

Let us not forget that inflation is not just here in America.  It’s the whole world that is experiencing terrible inflation.  And, while it is oppressive, we folks here in the USA are doing much better than those in the European Union (EU), Russia, and China.  As a matter of course, the inflationary pressures are the direct result of Russia’s invasion into the Ukraine (food shortages around the world) and China’s Zero Covid Policy, which exacerbates supply chain issues.

So, things are up for grabs. Ergo, make sure you vote tomorrow. Figure out when it is the best time for you to show up to vote. It is our duty as citizesn. And, we (the United States) need all the help we can get.

Just Vote.

And, thank you for doing so!

  1. I did vote, and thank you to all citizens who exercised that duty. As I write this comment we are listening to a channel announcing results – so many close elections. And now, the citizens of Georgia get to do it again because one race is so very close that a runoff was triggered by their law. Every vote does count.
