I stayed up all Sunday night. And, now my menu is limited to dairy meals for today and tomorrow. Because those are the traditions of the Feast of Weeks, Shvuot.

45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50!
We’ve been counting since the Pesach (Passover) Seder. (Which, unfortunately for the second year in a row had to be held over Zoom. Since only I was fully vaccinated. This pandemic must go.) 50 days after we were freed from Egypt (Mitzrayim- a place of narrow straits), we were waiting by Mount Sinai (sorry- NOT in the “Sinai Peninsula”, more likely in Saudi Arabia, near an active volcano), to receive the 10 Commandments. Where the words were seen- yes, seen. I admit, until I saw the effects of a rocket plant explosion in Henderson, Nevada, I had no idea you really could see “sound”. Not surprising that those in attendance were totally awed…
Pandemic Resiliency
What else did we learn from the Intuit study by Dr. Susan Woodward? (This is the second of two blogs discussing her thorough study of small business results during the pandemic. Here’s the first.)
What hath the Pandemic Wrought?
So, we’ve been talking how President Biden is going to start having the IRS begin investigating pass-through businesses and other ventures the rich use to harbor their wealth. He is going to start to examine the net bank deposits of these firms- to see if there is any hiding of profits from the IRS.
Grid Relief
Bit by bit, we are hearing more about this great infrastructure program that President Biden wants the US to adopt. And, part of that program is coming together as we speak.
Yom Yerushalayim
So, you probably celebrated yesterday as Mother’s Day. My son drove down from Manhattan to celebrate the weekend with his mom and his surrogate mom (his nanny). Oh- and he spent some time with his homebound dad, as well. (We even watched a 12 inning Phillies game together. Which the Phillies worked diligently to lose!!!!!) But, that’s not the point of today’s blog.
Peek a Boo! I see you!
And, so it’s coming.
The recommendation to make it fairer, to make the richer Americans find it harder to hide their income, seems to be coming part of our system.
Professional Practices
I had been attending a bunch of professional meetings lately (no, not in person; virtually). And, it seems that the pandemic has brought new focus to the management of their businesses. (It’s about time!)
Racing Woes?
This tax case resonated in my soul….
Long ago, one of my best buds and I decided to invest in a racing car. After all, I had survived a rash of wrecks, was given a transfusion laden with HIV, among other assaults. It was clear that the Supreme Being was giving me a pass. Why shouldn’t I race cars?
4 Dead in Ohio
51 years ago today. Tricky Dick let the National Guard murder four protestors at Kent State. The photos of that day wrenched the world.
