So I was catching up on my reading (it has been the week from hell, sorry) and noticed a piece in the Wall Street Journal, written by Jon Kamp– but that is not what really attracted my attention.

We’ve gotten it…The Tora!
We’ve been counting since the Pesach (Passover) Seder. 50 days after we were freed from Egypt (Mitzrayim- a place of narrow straits), we were waiting by Mount Sinai to receive the Tora. Sorry, folks, this was more likely NOT in the “Sinai Peninsula”, but found in Saudi Arabia, near an active volcano. As I wrote yesterday, we saw AND heard the words of the Supreme Being (you can get the idea by studying this rocket plant explosion in Henderson, Nevada).
Isn’t there an easier way?
Yesterday, we discussed indemnity, catastrophic, and conventional health care plans. One of the primary reasons to have a health care plan is to be able to get lower prices for each service that may be needed. Without such a plan, you pay what the provider wants- or get sued. The difference in pricing can be 90%. It is routine for me to see an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) detailing a bill that came in as $ 7244, was considered to be $ 1200 once reduced by my insurance carrier, and for my share of the costs to be only $ 50 or so.

Jack be nimble…
What do we do if we don’t believe holacracy (which we discussed yesterday) will work in our company? Do we just give up? I don’t think so.
Happy New Year(‘s resolutions)
A real artificial kidney?
A real artificial kidney… Come on, you know that sounds funny. But, oh, so critical. Because transplantation needs kidney donors that are compatible- and we- not just America, but the world- find kidneys in short supply, and compatibility an even tougher hurdle.
A ‘chip’ off the old block?
Well, here’s another chapter in the sci v. scifi book. I wrote about Organovo and its artificial liver – not to replace a human’s organ, but to test various therapies and drugs. Now, here’s another researcher’s take on that issue.
3D Update, Part 5…
You know, I spent all this week (so far) talking about 3D printing and its effect on industry and general business. Today, I will focus in on what this one development has and will bring to health care.
Now!
The time is now. The economy is changing- ever so slightly. But, the reality is that the American Dream is being shattered- the only way you can make that come true for yourself is to start your own business.
