We are continuing our journey through Berlin. The other days of Berlin were filled with great walks. Oh, sure, we took the Metro from our “close-in” bed and breakfast to the real city. (Note to self: NEVER do an AirBNB in the summer. Because most of those places lack air conditioning!)

It continues!
Given the events of this past weekend in Charlottesville, I decided to break into my queue.
After all, I lived there for 13 years. And, one of my finest accomplishments there (other than the birth of my two daughters and a slew of great products) was bringing life to the 150 year old synagogue there. Jeff Poelvoorde and I spent months convincing folks to come to a traditional Saturday morning service. And, with time, a wonderful Jewish community- shared lives, families, food- developed. And, continues there still some 3 decades later.
D-Day
It was 70 years ago. And because of that, so many young children don’t have a clue what today is. D-Day. The day the Allies launched a full-scale invasion of the European mainland; the first rung in the eradication of Adolph Hitler and his stranglehold on freedom and his promotion of anti-Semitism.
I didn’t write this!
Dear Dennis.
The man who might have written on this card once controlled Europe- three short years ago when you were born. Today, he is dead, his memory dispised (sic), his country in ruins He had a thirst for power, a low opinion of man as an individual, and a fear of intellectual honesty. He was a force for evil in the world. His passing, his defeat– a boon to mankind. But, thousands died so it might be so. The price for ridding society of bad is always high.
Love,
Daddy
Who knows what Evil lurks in the hearts…
It must be my month to have a written discourse of sorts with my friend, Tor Constantino. He wrote earlier this month about our inability to reconcile with the evil in this world. Why would a Supreme Being (SB) allow Evil in the world? I will attempt to answer, while refraining from the theological argument (since I recently tried that, too); however, I should at least explain my starting point(s).
