So, the Feds have increased the interest rates- finally. Which really means that for those of us carrying credit card debt, our costs are going to go up. (Our interest rates are going to rise, that’s why!) Which also means now is the time to develop (and follow) a plan to reduce our debt. In the most expeditious way possible.

Bug Power?
267 years ago, Ben Franklin flew his kite to demonstrate that lightning was electricity. But, it really wasn’t of much use to us until some 130 years later. On the 4th of September 1882, the Edison Illuminating Company began operating the first power plant (Pearl Street) with a network of copper wires. (The problem is that our electric grid has not really progressed much beyond that mess of copper wires.)
Java Jive
You know that I spend a lot of time at a local coffee spot. Because I write about it all the time. So, it shouldn’t surprise you that I really enjoy coffee, as well. After all, we do know that US scientists and lab techs (both better known as research rats) are the heaviest coffee drinkers in the US. Plus, I’ve written about the new UCDavis program incorporating coffee technology into the ChemE program.
Go with the flow?
Yesterday, we spoke about DBS (deep brain stimulation). Today, we’ll talk about a different kind of brain stimulation- tCDS (trans-cranial direct current stimulation). The goal of tCDS is to develop a feeling of “effortless” concentration, associated with outstanding performance. This feeling is called the “flow” in the vernacular. Before you decide to “go with the flow”, you have to understand that we don’t quite have it “nailed down”, either.
