It was 60 years ago yesterday.  That year, it was really Erev Shabat (Friday) and the week before Thanksgiving.  It would be 3 weeks until Chanuka.  (And as you know, today is the day after the 22nd and it is American Thanksgiving.)

On the legacies that the Kennedy assassination provided America was the belief in conspiracies.  After all, it is difficult to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald to fire the Carcano rifle multiple times in short order to kill our President.  Or that there wasn’t a second shooter on the grassy knoll, since it would be difficult to hit Kennedy from the font, it the shooter was situated in the Texas Book Depository.

Kennedy Shot

To date, 64% of use do not believe the official story about Kennedy’s death.  That’s about twice the number of folks who believe that Trump won his reelection.

  1. I was in 9th grade and still remember this like it was yesterday. Dion is one of my favorite artists from that era and love that song.

  2. So many Americans alive today were born years after November 22, 1963 and (fortunately) have never experienced the horror of a Presidential assassination or watching his alleged murderer himself shot to death on live TV. And the even more horrible 1968 was in the future. Yes, I paused to remember. Now, though, we cope with mass shooting after mass shooting. The latest, a nightclub and a Wal-Mart. I wonder what the people of 1963 would have thought if they could have seen into the future.
