When I first heard about Solve, I thought the notice  was from MIT.  After all, this was a term MIT had bandied about for a long time.

After all, the world has a host of problems.  And, MIT is a place where a great number of smart, creative folk have been educated.  Moreover, a whole bunch more congregate there- visiting the school, meeting with professors, and students, reading its reports, etc.

MIT Solve

So, MIT formed an “initiative” back in 2015 to have a bunch of tech entrepreneurs (and other interested parties) work together on four  different global challenges each year.   Seeking out “teams” that can effect the transformations necessary to make a difference, to alter the trajectory of these issues.  In essence, the concept connects innovators with resources- all devoted to solving these global problems.

But, on National STEM [Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics] Day (8 November 2018), I was reading the Wall Street Journal and was confronted with a different SOLVE.  So, I broke into my queue, because there’s still tomorrow for y’all to get your schools and students hooked into this great program.

Samsung has put aside $ 2KK for the selected groups to solve a problem that interests them.   To let kids get excited about STEM and give back to their community.  To let kids develop their critical thinking and leadership skills.  Oh, and have their school get valuable class materials, as well as technology.

Samsung’s Solve isn’t devoted to the four global challenges that the MIT Solve is targeting.  Which is great- because we want our kids to deal with issues with which they feel a kinship.

I hope you pass this information along.  Our kids need all the STEM encouragement they can get.  After all, I’ve already shared that the CEO’s of the world’s top firms are more likely to be STEM graduates than MBA’s.  That will only  become more prevalent as our needs become more technology based.

Talking about challenges- have you considered how the new tax law will affect your personal and business finances?  You should read my book that will elucidate what changes you need to make to ensure your taxes are the lowest legally possible.  I also have a special deal for those who buy the paperback edition (with a few other wrinkles explained here) to get a personal assessment,
