Tonight, Saturday night is when the holiday of Shvuot, the Feast of Weeks, begins. It means I- and a bunch of other Jews- are going to spend all night long studying. Just like the Jews did on the first Shvuot, when we (we are supposed to consider ourselves to have been at Sinai when the Tora was given) received the 10 Commandments.
My synagogue shares the study session with a few other congregations. First of all, that greatly widens the pools of instructors who can share their knowledge. It also means we can cross the various sectors of Judaism- we’re the Orthodox shul, plus we have a Conservative shul, an independent & egalitarian community, and some members from the Reform community.
Hopefully, y’all will find a place to study, to commune with the Supreme Being, and celebrate this third Festival. (The other two are Pesach/Passover and Sukot.)
Nice blog. I would like to share it with my friends. I hope you will continue your works like this. Keep up the excellent work. You have a magical talent of holding readers mind. It is something special which cant be given to everyone.
Thanks, so much! I would be honored if you shared my posts among your friends.
