Pomp and Circumstance.

What a weekend this will be. It feels like it was a second ago this young child was born. But, no- he is almost 22 now. The youngest of the brood. About to graduate from the University of Michigan. His first choice- no, his only choice- school.

And, what an education he obtained. And, what friends he has made. And, what goals has he achieved. About to embark on a career, one of several he has planned for himself.

I remember his first roll-over. His first steps. His first words. His first weather station. Who wanted his bar mitzva colors to be maize and blue. (They were.) Who then decided that he was going to run cross-country. Having never run before. And, managed to perform more than respectably.

Who decided to become a manager of the basketball team, while holding down a full complement of courses (double-major) at the U. A four year run of fun, learning, and growth.

All of which helped him form the person he is now. To take the stage and move on to the next chapter of his life. Not to return to the DC area, but like his other siblings to find his way in another cit, y doing what intrigues him most- now. And, meshes with his long term plan.

Congratulations, Daniel. Not just I- but we- are all proud of you- because you made this happen.

In the Big House

We’re waiting to see the next steps. May you go from strength to strength.
