Are you ready to grow your business? No, I don’t mean to increase your sales (although that may be part of the issue). I’m talking about increasing your bottom line. A lot.
We (The Adjuancy) are getting ready to add (at least) two new programs in a month or so. One will be local (to our offices) and the other will be via the internet. It’s a cross between a networking group and an advisory group. With no more than 8 members in any group (which is why there may be more than two).
The groups will meet once a week (real or virtual). The initial meetings will be aimed at setting goals (three or four for the year) for sales, profits, and growth during the next year. These meetings also will be aimed at determining which skill sets will be needed to achieve these goals. And, we will work with everyone (one-on-one, and as a group, both) to develop those skills – to provide the best assurance that the goals can be achieved.
Each group will also serve as advisory boards to all the other members. So, there can’t be any direct competitors in any group, or this concept will fail- miserably. And, we don’t plan to fail. And, as is true for any advisory board, the members will be working together to hone the goals for each member, improve performance, keep each other from “getting stuck”, and help introduce each member to new opportunities they may never have considered. Which we, as facilitators, will also be doing.
To make sure that no one really knows what each members true sales and profits are, we will normalize these numbers on a scale of 1 to 100 (where 100 is the ultimate goal chosen). We also will work with each member to set up dashboards (using Key Performance Indicators, KPI)…. You know, those charts that let you know how well you are doing and how close you are to achieving your goals.
I like that you say “advisory” versus “mastermind.” But then, I’m sort of a change-up-your-language kind of girl.
It’s really related to how advisory boards work, as well, PeggyLee. An advisory board is one off which an executive can bounce ideas, where suggestions and alternative actions can be proposed, and which can help solidify the thoughts behind actions and visions…. It just can’t vote its choices and impose it on the individual (who is, indeed, free to accept or reject the advisors).

I certainly hope they will. I wouldn’t have done my job right if they didn’t, Bonnie!
This sound like a great program, Roy. I like the small size and the fact that members will be working together instead of competing with each other. I think your knowledge and experience will be a great benefit to those participating.

Thanks for that consideration, Janette.
We would that the larger groups don’t manage to work, as well. Of course, we could make more money- but the name of the game is to get our clients the best results.
