Tax Reform is all the rage. And, now that the fairy-tale land of budget reconciliation has terminated (it ended on 30 September, where items could pass with a simple majority- which means the Vice President could break any ties), our Congress will now get all hyped about lowering the tax burden (I fear they will offer the rich a tax break, the poor more taxes, the middle class empty promises, and Christmas gifts for big business. Fifteen Years…
My 50th birthday. I was flying to New York City. To see a series of Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. And, to pop in to a special event for a youth group with which I was most active when I was young and living in New York. (Thankfully, it is not among those days that Congress, in its infinite wisdom [read as stupidity], elected to move to Mondays, affording a longer weekend. ) We celebrate the day with fireworks, with going to the beach, with barbeques, and with get-togethers.

My son and I were off to visit the college of his choice. We had a tight window- we were leaving in the morning, to return that evening. He had a track meet the next day.
Happy Birthday
So, let’s see, we believe it was 238 years ago. When (give or take a day or two), our forefathers promulgated a document that still brings chills to my spine.
