If only we would make tough choices. The system – at least for the past years- is arranged to punt decisions down the line. Where the choices are the same, anyway- just more expensive.

I was perusing the web after I put away all my special dishes and food required for my holiday. (OK, I was vegging out after stuffing and carrying 8 tubs, with an average weight of 25 kilos down 10 steps and through a narrow hallway, leaving them in storage until next year.) And, I ran across a new device that intrigues me- and I think you will be interested as well.

Can you imagine this? Anaesthesia to kill the pain, but you’re left awake, while the surgeon drills two holes in your skull. And, then questions and commands. Why? Because it’s the only way the electrodes that will be placed in your brain can be put in exactly the right place.

Let’s all say this together…
We are not going to be intimidated when we visit our physician. We will not let him or her flit in after our vitals were taken, listen to our heart, check a few other items, say we are fine, and evanesce. Leaving us to dress and go home.

Imagine my surprise. Dialysis would become a political weapon. (In light of this weekend’s events, this statement seems superfluous.)
