Quality versus quantity? That’s been the argument forever about raising kids. Which became even louder as moms began trading their jobs at home for jobs in the office or factory. Couple that with the desire to give our kids everything we never had (violin lessons, soccer camp, ballet, scouting) and we have a recipe for overload.

Sit Down and Shut Up.

If you don’t want to read a political blog, today is the day to skip reading mine. Because I have had more than enough of the stupidity that obtains in Republican politics.  It’s why I’m actually breaking into the queue- because if yesterday weren’t a holiday, I would have published this article then- right after these “facts” became news.

Overreach?

Most of you have no clue about these distances I will discuss today.  (That’s why I have a map below.) But, when I was little- around 6- I rode my bike from my house in Forest City to Lee’s Hobby Shop in East Meadow. So, I could buy chemicals for my basement lab. (No, we are NOT going to talk about what happened to my chem lab- or me- or my parent’s house, either. At least not today.) A distance of about 3 ½ miles. Only about ½ mile on really major highways.
