It’s a truism that reforming the corporate tax rates should encourage businesses to invest in ways to improve their bottom line. That normally means finding a way to enhance productivity. But, that also means the lower rates are part of a program to remove special interests.

Fake Savings!

More finagling with Obamacare. TheDonald keeps screwing with the insurance companies so that PPACA will die. And, since he is clearly the smartest person in the world (do you think he drinks Dos Equis?)- NOT, he is positive that the world will believe that he didn’t kill it, but it died a natural death. (Hmm. Must be like the Nazis and KKK- that had a torch march on Friday night, threatened the Jews of Charlottesville (without guns while they marched, with guns by the only synagogue in Charlottesvile), and employed vehicular manslaughter (with 19 others maimed and hurt)- were the ones endangered and justified in their actions.)

100% Deductible?

Running a business? Then, you know that money you spend for meals – or entertainment- that are business related are not fully deductible. Oh, sure, if you spend $ 100 wining and dining a client, your profits have been reduced by $ 100. Except that’s not how it appears on your Schedule C or Form 1120 or Form 1065. Because only 1/2 of that expense is deductible.

But, we’ve seen what the House GOP produced-  and now the Senate GOP has just proved that they can produce something worse that Obamacare. MUCH, MUCH, Worse.

Tax Equity For the World- but NOT the US. Of course!

No Gravatar

I’ve been advocating a change in the business income tax for a long time. And (of course), I consider my proposal to be extremely brilliant. Far better than the 1 page change in all taxes proposed by TheDonald or the (sometimes proposed, sometimes withdrawn) special duty tax to be imposed on imports. Because my method collects revenue (as opposed to draining it- hoping for an insane 3% growth- AND the need for a magic potion to harvest funds that never appear) and is equitable.

No, you can’t do that!

As of right now, there is not a lot of data. But, at Simpson Field (Alexandria), where i coached many a little league team and where my children enjoyed playing, at least 50 shots have injured (and perhaps killed) aides and elected officials practicing for a Charity Congressional baseball game. Please pray for all injured and let’s get rid of these guns that so easily devastate our lives- and, now, even our dysfunctional government.
