Ah, yes.  The truth- and the dangers- are now becoming obvious.

The GOP was desperate to provide a benefit to their benefactors.   So, they lowered the corporate tax rates to a ridiculously low 21%.  Even though most corporations never paid the much bandied about 35% rate.  (Only professional corporations and small businesses got stuck with that level of taxes.  Big corporations always hid- and still do- their profits from the tax man.)

Be a Pill!

When we take pills, we rarely consider the amazing facts that let us do so.

Do you ever consider that the pill we are taking is required to survive the hydrochloric and other acids in our stomach?  (Even if that pill is meant to travel around our body from the stomach, the “guts” of the pill have to survive our guts!)  And, if we need intestinal transfer (often where the transmission to our body is the best means of delivery), then the pill needs to be able to withstand all the enzymes in our intestines that were designed to break down proteins and then allow the dosage to pass through the mucus layer that protects the intestines from our enzymes and stuff we eat.

God Bless America

Pogroms led many a Jewish family to pick up stakes and head for the ‘goldene medina’ (the “golden land”)- the sobriquet many used to describe the United States. Not much different from the thoughts of those in Central America, subjected to mayhem and kidnapping or murder, those in Syria subject to chemical attacks and barrel bombs from their ‘government’. And are welcomed as readily (i.e., NOT) by American citizenry.

3 cheers for the Red, White, and Blue…

So, we celebrate today as our Independence Day.  Despite the fact that the Declaration was issued a few days earlier than this some 242 years ago.    And, as was true for Israel when it declared its independence in 1948,  the neighbors weren’t so sure we were independent.  OK.  Not the neighbors- Brittain.  Sure , it decided to pull out of the States, but the War of 1812 was really the end of our long battle(s) for independence from Brittain.
